What is your favorite part about pottery?: Love the ability to experiment with different techniques and ideas which gives a wonderful sense of accomplishment.

Tell us about yourself and your pottery journey: I began my career as a ceramic artist almost 48 years ago in Denver, Colorado. I fell in love with the clay and the 3D designs that I could meld it into.

My art is primarily influenced by geometric shapes and contemporary art and I love playing with anthropomorphic figures. My artwork comprises both functional and decorative vessels, as well as a striking range of ceramic wall hangings and sculptures. I utilize numerous decorative glaze mediums, including smoke-fired raku glazing, crystalline glazing, low-fired majolica decorating, underglazes and various other firing techniques which allow me to reveal my personality through my art. I create both hand-build and wheel thrown pieces.

I have been a member of the Aurora Potters Guild, currently serving in the role of treasurer. I have also had the opportunity of being one of the Guild’s featured artists. In additional, my pottery sold in the Colorado Channel 6 Annual Fundraising Auction, Adoption Exchange and Catholic Charities and is currently at the Grace Gallery in Denver , 877 Santa Fe Drive, Denver, CO 80204 as well as being shown at Woodward Studios in Denver
