What is your favorite part about pottery?: Pottery has been so therapeutic for me. It really forces me to slow down, leave my stressors at the door, and be fully present. It has also challenged my patience and increased my ability to expand my vision in my art. My best pieces have incorporated the unexpected to push me to think outside the box!

Tell us about yourself and your pottery journey: As a lifelong, on and off again artist, I have enjoyed experimenting with various media. I have always loved pottery but really struggles with learning the process. Having come back to and given up on clay multiple times, something just clicked this last time I tried again - and I was instantly hooked. I love that there are endless techniques to approach and am enjoying finding my voice in clay. I really find satisfaction in making functional objects, learning new techniques, and combining throwing and hand building. My miniatures are inspired by my full-time work as a play therapist and the children that I work with.
